The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the Arabian Peninsula. It occupies an area about the size of the United States east of the Mississippi River. Saudi Arabia’s population is 27 million, including 8.4 million foreign residents (2010 census),  and its capital city is Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia’s geography is diverse, with forests, grasslands, mountain ranges and deserts. The climate varies from region to region. Temperatures can reach over 110 degrees Fahrenheit in the desert in the summer, while in the winter temperatures in the north and central parts of the country can drop below freezing. Saudi Arabia gets very little rain, only about four inches a year on average.

Hadeel Alabbasi

 

Hadeel Alabbasi is the founder of Qanaateer, an institute that specializes in offering holistic and interactive Arabic classes for non-Arabic speakers. An advocate for the beautiful Arabic language, Mrs. Alabbasi has started a campaign called (Speak to me in Arabic) to encourage everyone to speak Arabic. She is a writer and has published seven children’s books. With a Master’s degree in Leadership Development and Coaching, Mrs. Alabbasi offers coaching sessions that help students paint their path towards achieving their Arabic learning goals.

Immersive Program

The Arabic Abroad program is a full-time, full-time program that takes place in the historic city of Jeddah. The program is designed and delivered by experts in the field of Arabic, and it uses a classical curriculum with contemporary methods of language acquisition. The goal of the program is to help students gradually develop their command of Classical Arabic infused with the Hijazi dialect.
